Our olive oil
Our passion is the production of premium organic olive oil, obtained exclusively from olives harvested using mechanical methods. For us, hand picking is the focus and we rely on the rare Taggiascia variety, a typical olive variety from the Liguria region, especially the area around Imperia.
Thanks to the perfect combination of soil, water and climate, the Taggiasca olive can develop its unique character here. Our extra virgin Ca' di Zangala olive oil is characterized by its intense golden color, a fine fruity taste with nuances of nuts and almonds and a slightly grassy scent.
It is ideal for salads, vegetables, fish and shellfish.

The Taggiasca olive is the focus
We are passionate advocates of high-quality, sustainable and local products - especially olive oil and other olive-derived products.
Our goal is to promote the cultivation of the Taggiasca olive in Liguria in the hinterland of Sanremo and to contrast the exquisite, high-quality oil of this olive variety with the mass products from the supermarket.
The idea for this project came from the passion and vision of Stephan Ressl, an entrepreneur dedicated to the preservation of Ligurian olive oil.
Stephan has lived in Ceriana (IM) for many years, where he first renovated and revived a dilapidated stone house called "Ca' di Zangala". Over the years he has seen how many olive groves have been abandoned and become wild. Added to this is the exodus from the countryside; the older generation is often no longer able to continue cultivating the olive groves and young people are migrating to the cities. Regional tourism is currently not really concerned with preserving local traditions or preserving historical heritage.

Vision
Stephan founded the Ca' di Zangala project in 2020 together with two like-minded people: the main goal of Ca' di Zangala is to revitalize abandoned areas and practice sustainable, high-quality agriculture and distribute these products internationally. Due to local conditions, the work is carried out exclusively by hand.
“We are convinced of sustainable, biodiversified and organic cultivation and have applied for formal certification and local cultivation control. To ensure the quality of our olive oil, we only process olives from our own groves."
